Encinitas sits about 23 miles west of our shop in Poway, a quick run out Highway 56 to the coast. We are inland specialists, but the coastal work here is a distinct discipline — and knowing both sides of that county climate line is exactly what these homes need.

Encinitas enjoys some of the mildest weather in the county. The marine layer and steady ocean breeze keep summer highs comfortable and take the edge off the heat that hammers inland communities. Cooling loads here are genuinely lighter than in Poway or Escondido.

But mild does not mean maintenance-free. The same coastal air that keeps Encinitas pleasant carries salt that corrodes outdoor equipment year-round. It is a slower, quieter problem than inland heat stress, and it is the reason coastal systems need a different kind of attention.
