The estates along Valley Center Road and out toward Hellhole Canyon are large rural properties, frequently with detached shops, guest quarters and outbuildings that need their own conditioning. Many heat with propane instead of natural gas, and nearly all draw water from wells, which brings hard-water scale into anything water touches and demands more attention to equipment upkeep.

In August 2025 we drove out to a grove estate near Bates Nut Farm where the detached workshop had no cooling and the main house filters were packed with grove dust. We installed a ductless mini-split in the shop, cleaned the scale-fouled coil on the main system, and set the family up with a dust-appropriate filter and maintenance schedule for their well-and-propane property.
